Why Donate Crypto Directly? Taxes!
There’s a reason high net worth individuals tend to donate property instead of cash. Donating cryptocurrency directly to a 501c3 nonprofit is more tax efficient and can save you money.
The IRS classifies cryptocurrency as property for tax purposes which means it is typically the most tax efficient way to support your favorite cause. When donating crypto, You receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation. That means you’re able to donate more, as well as deduct more on your tax return. The difference? Sometimes more than 30%.
If you provide an email, you will automatically receive a tax receipt after donating.

With the onset of COVID-19, the 20 million people in Uganda without access to safe drinking water became more at-risk for this disease. Underlying health conditions, compromised immunity, malnutrition, and sickness from waterborne diseases, such as diarrhea and typhoid contribute to this risk. The notion that the availability of clean water and soap to wash hands and stay health is easy or attainable in this context is unfounded. With that we along with our partners, including the Ministry of Health, stepped up to continue our programs and provide even more access to clean water than before and we need your help! We are working in the slums of Kampala, rural communities, schools, health centers and Refugee Settlements. In 2020 we have installed filters in 6 health centers, 8 schools, 4,800 households including 2,400 refugee households impacting over 113,000 people. However, there is more work to be done. Having clean water and sanitation is an indispensable element in the fight against COVID-19. That is why Water is Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and water service providers and professionals are essential frontline workers, who now need us and YOU more than ever. Please support our work and bring clean water to communities in Uganda. Clean water is a Human Right!
